Today we welcome artist Anne McGuire to the #sparkchamber. Anne was born in the Valley of the Jolly Green Giant and lives in San Francisco. She writes science fiction fairy tales with landscapes interrupted and encroached upon by ominous technology such as all seeing eye poles and airplanes that never land and where dead cows are left to rot in dramatic pastures only to be found and fiddled with by curious children on the hunt for summer entertainment. She also writes about dating, paints about film, and sings about all of it.

1.] Where do ideas come from?

Many times from dreams. I dream songs. I dream science fiction. Day dreaming and imagination. My imagination is vivid. From my past. From the moment before I fall asleep.

2.] What is the itch you are scratching?

I want to make art, music, stories that make people laugh and/or are entertaining in some novel way. That is the best way to scratch my itch.

3.] Early bird or night owl? Tortoise or hare?

I'm an early bird, and a tortoise as the day progresses

4.] How do you know when you are done?

When I'm full! When the song is song length! When the painting is beautiful! When the story resolves...
